U Bein Bridge , Mandalay, Myanmar
U Bein Bridge is the longest teak footbridge across Taungthaman Lake in Myanmar. U Bein Bridge is located in Amarapura, Mandalay. U Bein Bridge is a crossing that spans the Taungthaman Lake near Amarapura in Myanmar.

The story began in 1859 when King Mindon decided to move his capital from Amarapura to Mandalay. He wanted to reuse as much material from Amarapura as possible for the construction of Mandalay.
During the relocation of the new capital the local mayor of Amarapura was able to salvage some of the teak wood from Inwa Palace. With over 1000 pillars, U Bein began constructing the bridge across Taungthaman Lake. This reduced the time people took to move between two banks of the lake. Then the name U Bein was set as the name of the bridge.
The view from U bein Bridge is incredible. You can enjoy the view of Taungthaman lake and many farms from the bridge. Everything will be green (maybe yellow and green sometimes) and the reflection of the lake. Watching the sunset from U Bein Bridge with your friends, partner, or family while you are walking on the U Bein Bridge is one of the best things to do while you are in Myanmar.
There’s a story that if you walk U Bein Bridge till the end with your lover or someone you love, you will end up with them together, no matter what. Some believe in it but some don’t. But who knows, test your luck why you can.
